It is not a case of I should be buying them many video games or many different forms of model kits but a combination of them both.

Although a lot of people are constantly complaining that these are bad for kids I really do totally disagree with this completely. There is nothing wrong with playing video games as long as you are choosing the right ones for them to play. The games out there are of course given the ratings they receive for good reason so know this well. Bad parenting would be to allow your child to play a game that is meant for someone older than them, there is no excuse. Model kits like train sets and RC helicopter are great for kids, there is no doubt about this at all however the same thing applies, you need to make sure you are getting something suitable for their age range. By doing this it means you are far more likely to get your child into the hobby and trust me they will enjoy challenges more as the years roll by.

When it comes to making a decision it is not a choice between the newest video game and the newest toy, not by any means. One of the main things you are going to want to do is mix things up for your kids.
