Sony ericsson smartphone Xperia X8 Review article
Sony Ericsson’s heavily customised Android operating system would look like on a phone with a middle-of-the-road screen that sits somewhere within those of the monster X10 and the tiny X10 Minis. And that’s exactly what we have got here. The screen of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is three inches in dimensions, so slightly smaller compared to 3.2-inch norm as seen in famous brands the Htc legend mobile phone, LG Optimus One and a lot of, many more Android phones. The good thing is the X8′s touchscreen uses capacitive technology, therefore it is immediately more usable than other entry-level Android phones such as the LG GT540 and Vodafone 845, designed to use the cheaper, less sensitive resistive technology.
Design
The proper execution factor of the Xperia X8 is the identical fot it of the X10 Mini – only bigger. Which means a curved back with easily removable cover, three silver buttons within the screen – Android-standard Menu, Home and Back – along with the camera and speaker across the back. The superior edge of the product features the micro-USB connector, that has been protected by a bit plastic stopper to prevent it accumulating handbag dust. Also this can be a power socket at the center and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Display
The X8 shows its superiority by treating that you its 3-inch capacitive LCD screen with resolution of 320×480 pixels – more than enough for this screen size. Because it’s a standard TFT (IPS LCD or AMOLED haven’t yet work their way to the mid- and low-end), viewing angles are actually as good. Though it must be effective at showing 16 million colors, gradients are far from perfectly smooth.
Keyboard
For the plus side, the thing is that the full Qwerty on-screen keyboard whether in portrait mode or panoramic mode. It’s one of the best virtual keyboards around, with handy autocorrect. Unfortunately, the sluggishness of the phone resulted in the keyboard couldn’t continue to keep with our typing.
Specs and gratification
The 600MHz Qualcomm processor works well with simple tasks, however it decreases once graphic-intensive games, such as the pre-installed Tower Bloxx, are run.Clearly, 128MB of memory is not enough to hold multimedia files, so Sony ericsson smartphone has bundled a 2GB card with it. Transferring data from a PC is often a drag-and-drop affair, so that it is all to easy to move content around without installing any extra software. The background music player displays the album artwork, artist and the title of the song, and may show related content for example YouTube videos by pressing the Infinity button. The bundled headphones were decent, so we were amazed with the loudness of the external speaker.Xperia X8 incorporates Bluetooth and it is Wi-Fi enabled. The handset also incorporates A-GPS, which may be used in combination with programs for example Google Maps Navigation.
Camera
The three.2-megapixel camera produced very mediocre shots. Images taken throughout the day lacked the “wow” factor, while night shots were tricky as it doesn’t have any built-in flash. The playback quality camera function only offered two options – Normal and “For MMS”.
Call Quality and Battery Life
The 1200mAh battery promises a talk-time up to five hours and 40 minutes and close to 20 days of standby time. It lasted to get a day and a half within normal use – we referred to as a number of contacts, sent texts and pushed content for the handset every hour.
