Information On The HTC Desire

In a second attempt to market a device that competes in the heavily populated Android smartphone market, the HTC Desire has been released. The new version expands on the platform of the HTC Legend to provide better usability right out of the box with cues from the Google Nexus One. The HTC Desire is equipped with a rapid 1GHz Snapdragon processor that can handle just about anything. Homescreen options include a variety of widgets and shortcuts for user functionality.

If you have an application open, you can just scroll across the screens bottom with your finger in order to activate the apps features. You can even use this with the music, contacts and messaging screens if you wish, allowing you to switch to whatever music track you want to play. Movies are played back with crystal clarity with the 3.7 screen that gives you access to your favorite films on the go.

Included ports on the phone provide a micro USB connection as well as a 3.5mm socket for headphones. Also included in the box is a set of wired headphones complete with call/music control buttons. For photos, the HTC Desire is built with a 5 mega pixel camera that features autofocus and an LED flash. With photo capture resolution up to 800 x 400, the HTC Desire can capture photos and videos with excellent quality even in low light situations.

While you might not be able to fit much into the 512 MB of memory included with the phone, you can expand another 16GB of space onto the phone with the right micro SD card. The 3.7 touchscreen makes it among the biggest displays you can find on an Android phone. The AMOLED panel can create bright, colorful palettes, and the Sense UI will allow you to get the most out of that display.

The size of the HTC Desire is 119 x 60 x 11.9mm, with a strong, durable case that will hold up to even severe punishment. It will also slip a lot less than other smartphones, due to the soft touch backing you can find on it. The four keys and optical mouse make navigation a snap, and easily beat the navigation systems you can see on the majority of other smartphones on the market.
