Dishwashers: Siemens VS Neff
At the grand old age of 24, I am finally moving out of my parents home to live with my boyfriend of four years. We both work long hours in marketing companies and since our spare time is lacking, we have decided it is important we buy ourselves a dishwasher to stop ourselves going crazy due to mess!
In the past my family has enjoyed using Neff ovens and the recurring support of the brand making a Neff dishwasher a very attractive option. I am further convinced by the inclusion of features such as their patented VarioFlex baskets (which makes the challenge of squeezing cumbersome pots and pans into the device a frustration of the past) and a timer that allows one to take advantage of off peak electricity rates. The most expensive Neff dishwashers also include touch controls and the Rackmatic feature, which allows the user to raise the top internal shelf to accommodate larger items in the lower rack.
My partner on the other hand prefers the idea of choosing a machine from the range of Siemens dishwasher. These can also come with a number of similar features (timers and similar washing modes) but as my matter-of-fact significant other likes to point out, the SN26M830GB model he is hankering for also comes with residual drying, which uses the heat from a wash to economically dry your dishes, rendering the need to dry-up obsolete.
I am sure this feature would be available on a Neff model too but I guess well find out for sure when we visit our nearest dishwasher relatives next week. Im hoping I get my own way though! Since Neff dishwashers are generally more expensive, I feel that means we would be getting a machine of higher quality and that the warranty would be more comprehensive.
